The Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Dairy Cattle is currently under revision.
Timeline of Code development:

- Public comment period: October 2020 to January 2021
- Projected completion: Fall 2021
The Codes of Practice are nationally developed guidelines for the care and handling of the different species of farm animals. The Codes contain recommendations for housing and management practices for farm animals as well as transportation and processing.
The Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Dairy Cattle was released in 2009.
